If you are experiencing a medical emergency, Dial 911
If you are facing problems because of your own substance abuse, please know that there are many people and organizations who are ready to help you get clean and sober, recover from addiction, and deal with the underlying problems that have contributed to being where you are today.
Hope Not Handcuffs
The Sterling Heights Police proudly support and participate in a national program called Hope Not Handcuffs.
If you need help, right now, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you can go straight to the Sterling Heights Police Department‘s front desk. You will not be arrested for drug use.
A person struggling with any drug addiction can come to a participating police agency and ask for help. They will be greeted with support, compassion and respect. If accepted into the program, the individual will be guided through a brief intake process to ensure proper treatment placement.
What if I have been using?
If you are under the influence and need help, Dial 911. Do not attempt to drive or even walk to the Police Department while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
